Spine Surgery

The Spine Services Department at Primus Super Speciality Hospital is running one of the best spine care programs in the country and is manned by a team of dedicated spine doctors whose only interest is to provide state of the art spine services to the patients. All the doctors have had long-term fellowship training in Spine Care. The hospital and the department have the best of equipments, infrastructure and services to diagnose, treat and rehabilitate spine patients.
The Spine doctors at Primus utilize a wide range of minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures like nerve root injections, facet joint blocks, epidural injections and various other CT guided procedures to identify the exact source of pain in a spine patient so that subsequent definitive method of treatment has the best possible chance of giving a long-term cure to the patient. The spine team at Primus specializes in technically advanced surgeries like Keyhole Endoscopic Slip Disc Surgery under Local Anesthesia for patients suffering from slip disc in the lumbar and cervical spine.  The benefit of these techniques lies in enhanced safety and quicker recovery time. In fact PSSH is one of the very few  centres in the country  providing  these services. In addition, the spine team at Primus also carries out other minimally invasive spine procedures like keyhole vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty for spinal fractures, minimally invasive spinal fusion, percutaneous pedicle screw fixation, microscopic discectomy, and microscopic decompression of lumbar canal stenosis. Apart from these minimally invasive procedures, the other routine major surgeries of spine like treatment of cervical and dorsal myelopathy, spinal deformity (Scoliosis and Kyphosis) correction, spinal tumour surgery, treatment of spinal fractures and artificial disc replacement are routinely done at Primus hospital with outcomes that are at par with the best in the world.

Despite a rich experience and skills to perform advanced spinal surgeries, the guiding principle of spine care at Primus hospital is to first allow a chance for natural healing of the disease. In this approach, the spine services team is well complimented by an excellent physical therapy and rehabilitation department.  The rehabilitation department is guided by the exact diagnosis of the problem by the spine team and then they use various conservative treatment methods to facilitate a natural recovery of the patient. This approach has helped thousands of patients get rid of their spine problems and generated a great amount of confidence among the suffering patients about the honest and sincere approach of the doctors.

All the doctors at Primus Spine team are highly qualified, kind, caring and considerate. They carefully listen to the patient’s problems, give sufficient time for outpatient consultations and then try to explain as best to the patients about their problems and various treatment options.
